Platformer Concept 17 (Final and Workprint)

This one is supposed to be set up in the sky somewhere, where you have to travel among a bunch of islands made of clouds. The water slides you see in the front are how you’re supposed to travel from island to island. I actually made this well back in 2014, but I put it off for a long time, due to working on other art pieces and being unsure about how I wanted to color this one in (speaking of which-if one looks closely, each of the formations on each cloud are colored in through a different manner).

The workprint below features Marlowe and Wynnie, as well as some cosmetic changes (i.e. the clouds were originally having water dripping from them).

Platformer Concept 16 (Final)

Don’t really have much to say about this one, outside of some smoke/glow effects added, and some minimal lineart changes. Otherwise its the same as the workprint / original, with the obvious addition of color.

Part of a series of Marlowe / Wynnie sketches I did. Just felt like coloring this one in particular. Might post the others sometime later. Had actually done this a while ago but put it off.

Tuesday Tips - SHAPES IN FIGURE DRAWING

Loose, gestural sketching is always appealing and energetic, but sometimes, certain poses aren’t as energetic or expressive enough to express through gesture drawing. Drawing with shapes in mind is another way to approach certain poses, especially when the model is wearing loose clothes or when the poses are more “closed in”.
